Artist's Comments
This is the finished painting of a comission for the owner (and my friend) of Salon Ivy. His wife comissioned me to paint him "anything Ivy related" for his birthday. I was inspired by an image of an Italian funerary sculpture and wanted to relate the painting to Ivy, and thus, a dryad draped in leaves and emerging into the sun was created.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. To help support the Literature community we hold regular contests. It is an opportunity for you to get involved and gain some exposure. Contest winners will be featured in a news article and a journal entry--as well as other fabulous prizes.
